The freeformer from ARBURG – more than just 3D printing

3D printing by ARBURGWhen it comes to ground-breaking inventions for plastics processing, trade experts cannot overlook ARBURG. 50 years after the development of the ALLROUNDER, which made injection moulding a great deal more universal, the mould-free manufacture of plastic parts with the freeformer has started in 2013.
As with 3D printing, the 3D CAD data is loaded and converted into slices to enable the desired part is reconstructed layer by layer. However, the freeformer designed for industrial additive manufacturing can do far more than a 3D printing machine: it melts commercially available plastic granulate and produces functional components as one-off parts or in small batches from tiny droplets of plastic.
Furthermore, the freeformer generates no dust or emissions. Like devices for 3D printing, the mobile system from ARBURG is ready for immediate use via plug & play and is suitable for practically any environment – it is equally at home in the office, in the design department or on the shop floor. This enables individual, flexible and cost-effective part production completely without an injection mould, from a batch size of one upwards.
